Modeling Gig: Creating Ideas and Scenes for the Painter, Dj Johnston of www.djfineart.com

I am experimenting with some ideas for new posting styles.

Modeling Gig: Creating Ideas and Scenes for the Painter, Dj Johnston of www.djfineart.com

Dj Johnston took these images of me as studies for future paintings. The first concept is "The Writer’s Agony of Pleasure”- the pain of writer's block. The typewriter in the picture is the genuine article, with keys that stick and an ink ribbon in red and black. Isn't the hat perfect?

The last shot is a combination of items from my closet- the orange jacket rescued from my vintage-loving friend Emilie's closet and pink boots from the GoodWill in San Rafael. Put them together, add a fencing foil, and voila! Emma Peel from The Avengers!!

Sapient Photo: Damien Shoots The Green Carpet

Sapient Photo:Le Tourment Vert Presents "The Butler's In Love" Film Premiere w/ David Arquette, Mayor Gavin Newsom and Jennifer Siebel

Photo Credit :Photo by Omar P.L. Moore/PopcornReel.com. Copyright 2008.

Absinthe is now legal in the USA, after a 96 year ban!
Le Tourment Vert is a French Absinthe manufacturer, and they are sponsoring films and artistic events to get the word out about their delicious herbal liquor.
David Arquette, Courtney Cox, Mayor Gavin Newsom and Jennifer Siebel came to the Metreon in downtown San Francisco for the film premier.
I love the concept and the back story- David Arquette saw the painting, "The Butler's in Love" by Oakland Artist Mark Stock. It was hanging at Bix restaurant in San Francisco. Years later, David was inspired to make a short film based on the painting.

At the opening, the green carpet was rolled out with absinthe bottles on tables- even the 3-D glasses for the film were green!
I had fun hamming it up on the green carpet. Damien took great photos of the celebrities. The movie was beautiful and engaging and I wanted it to continue! It was only about 12 minutes long! I guess it is hard to film in 3-D?
Anyhow, the after party was at Roe and it was great. bottle of Absinthe piled high in bathtubs of ice, dancing with gentlemen in period costume, and plenty of prickly tasting absinthe cocktails.

Sapient Photo: 944 Magazine Launch

Huge Launch party at the Bently Reserve for 944 Magazine! Damien worked the Red Carpet and I was the video hostess. I interviewed Pras from The Fugees and DJ Soloman. Macy Gray was on the decks.

Check out this pic of me and Too Short!
The very first tape I ever bought- 'Life is Too Short' by Too Short. It was in 1988 at the Ashby Flea Market, and it cost $3. True story. Love ya, Short Dog!!!

No More Movie Mob :(

Sadly, we got the lowest amount of votes last week. Thanks and love to everyone who voted for us.
They brought on some new characters like a funny little person and a hot girl, and we couldn't compete any more.
But, we got lots of face time in the Hulk episode and we had tons of fun making videos.
And we get to keep the Flip Camera that they sent us!

Video Gig: More Movie Mob!!!!

Sapient Photo: JRAE'S B-DAY!!!

Miss Jessica Rae of Desired Temptations had a s big blow-out birthday on Saturday the 14th. Damien and I took lots of pictures- we had a red-carpet back-drop shoot, a full fashion show with more models then I could mention, DJs and dancing, and Jessica's birthday with former Mayor Willie Brown.
I also took some great images of Damien as the Dancing Photographer, I think we found his new avatar.

Sapient Photo: White Party at Ruby Skye

The 8th Annual White party was very fun. It is a big party at Ruby Skye nightclub and everyone dresses in white outfits. The club is covered in white decorations and black lights. The effect is very pretty. Damien and I got dressed in the white linen outfits that he bought for us in Miami (when he was shooting for the Winter Music Conference).
We had a photo set-up area in the front with a white bed for people to pose on- Damien set up a second light in the back and the photos are hot!!

Sapient Photo : Telford's Cigar Shop in Marin

Telford's is a quaint and comfortable cigar shop in Marin County. Damien and I visited to take photos for 944.com. The owners were very gracious and the place is beautiful. Cigar smokers lounge on the front porch and also in the indoor smoking lounge.  I am posing in front of a wall of special cigarettes.

Sapient Photo: Yelp! Elite 70s Party

I answered a Craigslist posting for promo girls to work a Yelp! party. I love Yelp! It is an online review site for restaurants and services. People write very detailed and poetic paragraphs about various businesses.
Well, i was not picked as a promo girl, but I was invited to the party anyways!
There was free food and drinks and ice cream, dancing transvestites and great 70s disco outfits. Loved it!!!

Sapient Photo: Obama Nomination Celebration!

Thank you to the awesome SF promoters who put on this political event. Most party promoters won't touch politics. Ruby SKy was packed with people on a Tuesday night!!!
We bought two t-shirts- mine reads "Me and You, Obama and your cousin too". People under 25 may not understand this.

Modeling Gig

I was booked to shoot for a series of stock photos for use in Dental Catalogs. How fun!
I drove up to San Rafael for the shoot. I had to pretend to be some guy's wife, and then I did some shots with a young girl who was pretending to be my daughter. They wanted lots of bright colors. I will post the photos when I get them.
